☆.Press Forward - Testimony Time!.☆
Hey guys first of all I want to wish you all a happy Sunday, i've come to just encourage you out there whilst sharing this little testimony. I realise that there is so much that I don't share with you guys simply because I feel that no one will care but God has been speaking to me a lot lately and I pray this touches the person it is meant to touch. I also use this entry to vow to be more open with you guys as I realise the whole purpose of my blog is to shine the light that Jesus gave me so from this day on I make a change! :D
Background story:
So for the past couple of months I have been feeling very discouraged in life generally, as some of you may know I recently graduated from uni in July and since then I just felt like my life was not going in the direction that I'd wanted it to. I slowly noticed myself becoming less motivated and my whole personality changing. The thing with me is that I am very good at keeping things in (this is a major problem I deal with) so everyone around me assumes that I am ok when infact that is not the case as my walk with God began to crumble..
Now first of all let me say that I know this feeling was not completely of me as I had been experiences a lot of spiritual attacks prior to this (thats for another post :)) so I knew that prayer was key but I just didn't know how...

☆.D.I.Y Ankara Top & OOTN.☆
A couple of weeks ago I was let down by my tailor (as usual) who failed to produce an ankara dress for me, so I took it upon myself to sew something myself, a top. I only had around 6 hours to complete the top so I went with something simple that wouldn't take too much time to complete. I've never really had experience with sewing (apart from my textiles class in year 10 which I never paid attention in lol) so this was more an easy way to do it without any patterns.
Here's how I did it:
Here's how I did it:
Step 1:
Trace around desired top twice for the front and back (I added length and sleeves to mine also).

☆.Protective Style of Last Month: Quick Miko Wig.☆
So I have recently become obsessed with buying wigs just because I see them as an easy go-to protective style on those days you feel like doing nothing to your hair. My protective style for last month was the Miko wig.
The wig was purchased from paks for around £23 in colour T33B.

So I started with my braid pattern which was just a simple all back style (doesn't have to be neat)

☆.Natural Hair: Everyday Styles.☆
Its been a while I did a post on my natural hair and I just wanted to come in an update you guys on whats going on with my hair and my go-to styles. I will be hitting my 2 year post relaxer mark in September, time goes so fast and well although I am happy with the health of my hair I do feel like I could have achieved more length. Since I have been natural I have only had one trim and for those of you that know trimming your hair (natural or not) is a MUST as the ends are the oldest part of your hair. So I will definitely be getting a trim ASAP and keeping up with my hair care journey.
Here are some recent pictures of my natural hair styles and you can see that my colour has grown out quite a lot, I doubt I will be recolouring my hair again just because it is hard work maintaining coloured hair (all the extra moisture it needs).
This post was more about showing you guys my go-to styles when my hair is not a protective style (braids, twists, crotchet braids).
My usual twist-out puff.

☆.Graduation OOTD & Pictures.☆
It was my graduation back in July and I have only recently found time to finally sit down, organise and compile my pictures from the day. I still can't believe I am a graduate, it feels like only yesterday I was driving up to my uni with my mum and she was waving goodbye to me.... but the time has come for me to be a grown up guys and enter the real world!! (tears). I am just so thankful to God for all he has brought me through and where He is taking me!
Anyways here are a few pictures from the day and my outfits which where of course Ankara, Enjoy! :D.

☆.Africa Fashion Week Outing.☆
So I attended Africa Fashion week this weekend and it was certainly an experience (lol). It was at Old Spitafields Market, with many stalls on the day there was plenty to look at before the fashion show actually began.
JodiB's stall had some fun and bright clutch bags which really caught my eye.
Dionne Gooding's store also had various styles of shoes and clutch bags. What I really liked about her items where that some where also covered in flags.

☆SOTW: Ms. Jaie- Kilon Poppin' (Music Video) .☆
Heya guys,
Im back with my song of the week and let me tell you this song is what I call a TUNEEEEE and a half :D. I recently came across this song called Kilon Poppin' (which is a way of asking What's Happening in Pidgin English) and from the first listen I was hooked!
Not only is the song catchy and fun her vocals had me mesmerised. Nowadays I feel that it is hard to come across good female Nigerian singers who can produce up-beat songs whilst still maintaining strong vocals. I can only think of a few such as Omawunmi and Waje but I would have to say Ms. Jaie is definitely up there with them, as she doesn't fail to deliver in this track.
Check out the video below:
Anyways guys I have some album reviews and film reviews coming up pretty soon so be on the lookout :)
Until next time guys...Peace & God bless

☆OOTN: Red Hot Rhythm.☆
Heya guys,
So I'm back with another OOTN. Excuse the toilet pictures but no-one ever helps me take pictures so you gotta do what you gotta do right?!
If you haven't noticed by now I am not a skinny girl (I know shock horror! lol) and It is kind of a struggle finding certain outfits that fit my body right, I'm sure a lot of you can relate! Well I came across this lovely little boutique in Walthamstow market (East London) which surprisingly stocks very nice formal dresses for a range of different sizes. I can't remember the name of the store (do forgive me) but the label on the dress is called 'Closet'.
