☆.My Lagos Finds: Pure Aesthetics Salon & Spa - Salon Review.☆

I call this place a hidden gem in the heart of Lekki, it's located on 'Fola Osibo' road right beside Gravitas Supermarket, if you're familiar with this road it is just where the ATM machine is hehe.

So now to the review, my day starts on a late Sunday afternoon, wasn't feeling too good but realised I really, REALLY needed to get my hair washed, steamed and braided down for my wigs (y'all know about the wig life). Being as it was a Sunday I didn't expect many salons to be open so I was on a search for somewhere to get my hair done at an affordable price.

I took my normal route via Fola Osibo and saw a banner outside some gate, I must admit it did look quite dodgy but hey it claimed to be a salon. So I stumble inside and see a cute little Salon at the back of a furniture store.

I was met by a lovely guy called Godwin who attended to me very well.

Location:
18A Emma Abimbola Street off Fola Osibo, beside Gravista Supermaket Lekki Phase 1
+2340905 667 2104 Lagos

Website:

He first of all gave me a wash and then a treatment, I took my own treatment product which was the 'ApHogee Two Step Protein Treatment' so he applied this into my hair.

☆.Natural Hair: Bantu Knot out 'Attempt'.☆

Heya guys Happy Sunday!

So I know its been a while since I've posted anything on my natural hair, tutorials etc. I do still love my natural hair but you know it can get a bit tiring sometimes (lets just be honest) the twisting, the braiding, finding a style that works and lasts! Nonetheless I decided to give my natural hair some loving this last week and I've reconnected with my beautiful Maine once again ^-^.

Below is my attempt at a Bantu Knot out, although I didn't get the results I expected I realised that my knots where far too big for me to get enough definition (especially having a 4b-c texture). Next time I try this style I will use smaller sections.

☆.Natural Hair: My new purple hair!.☆

Heya guys,

So by now you should know how much I'm obsessed with colour. A couple months back when I was in the UK I got my hair cut, blowdried, flat ironed and coloured at the 'Darren Scott' salon in Warwick Avenue.

I first head about the salon through a review I read on one of my fav natural hair site, Care For Your Hair

This was my hair to begin with, it had been previously coloured with box dye, you can check out the post on this here.

They used 522 L'oreal with 6% magarel

The colour was left on for about 20 minutes to process

☆.OOTN: Pinks & Lace.☆

Heya guys,

So last weekend I went to dinner for one of my closest friends birthdays. My Omobs she's just an amazing, entertaining and loyal friend! I appreciate how much she has been there for me. From my first friend at uni, I know our friendship will last a lifetime (even if its by force) hehe! Here are some pics from the night =].

☆.Love Lounging It Up-OOTN.☆

A couple of weeks back I attended 'love lounge' with my friends, it was a night of live music and comedy. I thought I'd make the effort since I always opt for the easy option of a top with leggings (I can be so lazy when it comes to dressing up) so here's what I wore....

☆. Versatility of Crotchet Braids.☆

As a natural I am always putting my hair in protective styles as I feel constantly styling my hair can be a pain and I just wanna put it awayyy!! As you guys probably know by now crotchet braids are my go-to hairstyle, when I have nothing else in mind to do (which seems to be all the time)..

I've always wanted to see what a bob type hairstyle would look on me so when I'd finally reach the point when I thought my crotchet braids were ready to be taken down I decided to cut them into a bob just to see what it would look like and here are the results!

☆.Protective Style of Last Month: Quick Miko Wig.☆

So I have recently become obsessed with buying wigs just because I see them as an easy go-to protective style on those days you feel like doing nothing to your hair.  My protective style for last month was the Miko wig.

The wig was purchased from paks for around £23 in colour T33B.

So I started with my braid pattern which was just a simple all back style (doesn't have to be neat)

☆.Natural Hair: Everyday Styles.☆

Its been a while I did a post on my natural hair and I just wanted to come in an update you guys on whats going on with my hair and my go-to styles. I will be hitting my 2 year post relaxer mark in September, time goes so fast and well although I am happy with the health of my hair I do feel like I could have achieved more length. Since I have been natural I have only had one trim and for those of you that know trimming your hair (natural or not) is a MUST as the ends are the oldest part of your hair. So I will definitely be getting a trim ASAP and keeping up with my hair care journey.

Here are some recent pictures of my natural hair styles and you can see that my colour has grown out quite a lot, I doubt I will be recolouring my hair again just because it is hard work maintaining coloured hair (all the extra moisture it needs).

This post was more about showing you guys my go-to styles when my hair is not a protective style (braids, twists, crotchet braids).

                                                           My usual twist-out puff.

☆.Protective Style: Styling Crotchet Braids.☆

Heya guys,

So I just wanted to show you some random ways I have been styling my crotchet braids since I've had them in. I should be taking them out soon as its coming to four weeks of them being installed but I must say this is definitely a GO-TO hairstyle for me!

☆.Protective Style: Crotchet Braids.☆

I loveeee doing crotchet braids, they are so easy and quicker to do than most other styles. Here I tried a different braid pattern. I have done a tutorial for this style previously which you can check out here.
I forgot to take a picture of the hair I used but the colour is 33.

I began with freshly washed and treated hair.

Blow-dried it with grapeseed oil as a heat protectant, see the shrinkage!!

☆.Natural Hair: Simple Styling 2 ways.☆

Here are some picture of how I made two hairstyles out of one. For me being a natural with 4c texture I find that whenever I do things such as twist-outs or braid-outs they become puffy within minutes of me unravelling them.

This hairstyle pictured below is a chunky twist-out in the back and mini twists which I decided to leave in at the front to create a fringe. This was my day hairstyle.

☆.Natural Hair: Re-Dyed My Hair.☆

It definitely has been a while, but I'm back and this time for GOOD! Finally completeld my final year at uni, just waiting for my graduation and then I will officially be FREE FREE FREE!

So for now I will be posting a few updates etc. Firstly let me update you on my hair colour, I re-dyed it using Dark and Lovely 'Red Hot Rhythm' (376). I have to say I am really loving this colour and will be sticking to this from now on (thats if I continue to dye my hair).

☆.Protective Style of the month.☆

I got my hair did Y'all...whenever i'm in Nigeria, if you dont know by now i ALWAYS get my hair put in twists..its much cheaper and quicker. it cost me 4,000 Naira which is the equivalent of £16, Can you say BOOYAH! (not even a pack of weave is that cheap). That's why i love doing my hair there and one thing i can say is they do it WELL!..I used the popular hair brand called Xpressions in colour #33 and highlights of colour #30. This will be Number the 3rd hairstyle for the protective style challenge I joined on YouTube.  Peep the pics below!

I lurvvvvv my twists, i think next time though ill get them done slightly bigger as i already had to take out some from the front so it wouldn't break the hair there. Watch out for some style tutorials!

Anyways until next time...Peace & God bless

☆. Why I've Been M.I.A. & Protective Style Challenge No.2☆

Yes Yes Yes i know i've sucked at keeping up with blogging and the truth is there has been A LOT for me to blog about these past couple of months, but there has just not been enough time for me to actually sit down upload pics, write etc... Infact as i am writing this now i SHOULD be finished off my dissertation (lets be honest i was procrastinating loooongg before i decided to write this entry). Well as some of you may know i have been taken over by my dissertation (my 10,000 word essay) and it is due in about 2 weeks! I thank God its nearly over but i am also PANICKING because i am nowhere near done....*Oh the joys of being a person with the shortest attention span known to mankind*.....Anywho i thought i owed it to all my followers out there (about 5 people but hey i'm still thankful) an explanation as to where i have been. Trust me my life is pretty interested and i should be including you guys.

There has been A LOT going on and i can't wait to fill you guys in but as for what is to come:

-Ankara Styles + pictures from my mums 50th birthday
-Vlog of my trip to Nigeria!
-Movie reviews
-Product Launch!

And MUCH MUCH MUCH! Trust me when i say much much more (it really annoys me when people say that and they really don't have anything else) But i mean it.

Anyways just to leave you guys with something i put my hair in Crotchet braids once again for a protective style challenge that i joined from folly24 on YouTube, here is the link to the tutorial of how i did the hair.

And here are some pictures of my style of this month which was done with Sleek101 (I know i HATE the brand but it was the only hair i could get from Paksonline). In colour 33, and guys this hair is looong! Here is the link to where i purchased the hair from Click here.

Until next time...Peace & God bless

☆.Protective Style of the Month.☆

So while it was fun experiencing my natural hair and experimenting with all the fun styles i could do with it reality is that it is time consuming!
Soon i will be going back to uni (my final year) which is going to be soo hectic so my hair will be going back into protective styling until early next year! (Sobs).....

I got my hair done by one of my aunties friends last week and ALREADY it is rough...the woman did a great job but because of the style i chose (Ghana braids) it is much easier to notice the fuzziness of my natural hair...ahh well! So it looks like im going to have to put it in kinky twists ASAP! But anways here are some pics of what my hair looks like and how i style it.

This is when i first got it done as you can see it is still looking fresh!

The BUN look is very elegant.

This is JUST a week after and if you look very closely you will be able to see it is already getting a tad bit messy! I promise its not me cause i take care of my hair very well :) hehe

Until next time...Peace & God bless

Oh yeh and i promise i will be posting more!
